Albert Watson Gregory

Albert Watson Gregory was born 24 of June in Mechanicsville, Louisa, Virginia to David Washington and Elizabeth Gentry Tate Gregory.
The first Census record that I have found for him was 1850 in Louisa, Virginia. he was 17 years old
Note on the census record it says he was 16 years old and a mail rider, he is not show here with his family but with another family.
Next we find him in the 1860 census record at the age of 27
Here he is listed with Frances S, Paul M, and Elizabeth which are his sisters and brother, also note that he was a Physician
On the 17 of July 1862 he married Mary Lavinia Kelso the daughter of David and Nancy Jane Smith Kelso
Now in 1870 census we find them living in Greene, Virginia
Now here on the 1870 census there is a little explanation needing to be done. it shows David Washington Gregory age 33 and a Physician, this is not correct that should be Albert Watson. David is Albert's older son and the other boys are Davids brothers Charles, Joseph and Thomas. left off this census was the mother and father. Albert and Elizabeth. If you take note of what I wrote in the 1860 census you would have seen that Albert was a Physician then.
In 1880 census we find the family living in Piney, Loudon, Tennessee
Here the family members are AW, Mary L., David W, Charles, Joseph N., Thomas K, Emma, Willie, Nanna, Mercer, and a servant girl by the name of Lucy Whitlock. also note that on this census Albert is a Physician. I have the records to show he was a Physician. (Thanks to family members)
Note that the records show that he was a Alopathic Physician and he started his pratice in Sept 1, 1856 but was not certified till Sept 4th 1889.
Next we find the family in 1900 census living in Cleveland, Bradley, Tennessee
Family members are AW, Mary, Willie, Charles, Emma, Nannie, Blanchie, Albert, Lizzie. this was a bad year for the family because their oldest son David Washington was killed by Andrew Green in Polk County Tennessee
Albert Watson Gregory died 13 July 1904 in Polk county, Tennessee
